Foo Fighters Announce Taylor Hawkins Tribute Shows, His Family Releases A Statement

Foo Fighters members recently shared a post to reveal that they will perform new shows to pay tribute to their late drummer Taylor Hawkins on the band’s official Instagram account. His widow Alison Hawkins expressed her feelings and gratitude for the community that always supported them.
Sadly, Taylor Hawkins was found unresponsive and declared dead after reaching out to the Four Seasons Casa Medina hotel staff about his ongoing pain in his chest. Even though they called the emergency services, it was too late for the drummer. Through their social media accounts, the remaining band members announced his unexpected passing on March 25, 2022, and mourned after their dear friend without giving any cause of death.
According to Colombian journalist Luis Carlos Velez, a white powder, probably cocaine, was in his hotel room. The toxicology report also showed that Hawkins used different drugs, possibly leading to a drug-related heart problem. Foo Fighters were on their South American tour and decided to cancel all upcoming concert dates because it was too hard for them to continue without him.
However, the famous rock band wanted to honor Hawkins with the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concerts, which will take place on September 3 at Wembley Stadium and September 27 at The Kia Forum in Los Angeles. Other rock stars will accompany Dave Grohl, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear, and Rami Jaffee to show their love for Hawkins.
The band’s IG post read:
“For our dear friend, our badass bandmate, our beloved brother. Foo Fighters and The Hawkins family bring you the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concerts.“
In the previous post before this announcement, his wife Alison shared a statement, saying that she’s thankful for the late musician’s fans who never forgot to pay tribute and were very kind to support his family. She highlighted that her husband’s spirit will always be with them through the works of art he had created so far. Allison added that honoring his legacy is his family, friends, and fans’ duty.
Here’s what Alison Hawkins wrote:
“My deepest thanks and admiration go out to the global Foo Fighters community, and Taylor’s fans far and wide for the outpouring of love each and every one of you have shown our beloved Taylor. Your kindness has been an invaluable comfort for my family and me during this time of unimaginable grief.
As Taylor’s wife, and on behalf of our children, I want to share how much you meant to him and how dedicated he was to ‘knocking your socks off’ during every performance. Taylor was honored to be a part of the Foo Fighters and valued his dream role in the band every minute of his 25 years with them. We consider every band member and the extended Foo Fighters team our family.
Taylor’s endearing spirit and deep love of music will live on forever through the collaborations he so enjoyed having with other musicians and the catalog of songs he contributed to and created. In celebration of his life, it is now up to all of us who loved him most to honor Taylor’s legacy and the music he gave us.
Thank you all again for your love and sympathy. Taylor loved all of you & we love you too.
With gratitude, Alison Hawkins.”
