Filter has announced the cancellation of their upcoming tour with Jerry Cantrell due to frontman Richard Patrick’s ongoing health issues, according to a statement posted on the band’s official Instagram.

The announcement addressed the unexpected tour cancellation and provided details about Patrick’s medical situation.

The statement went on to explain the medical reasons behind the decision.

“Following medical advice, Richard Patrick has been advised not to tour at this time,” the announcement continued. “He had disc replacement surgery, and recovery has been slower than expected. We hope to see you on tour soon!”

The tour was scheduled to take place next month with Alice in Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell. No rescheduled dates have been announced at this time.

Jerry Cantrell announced the final US leg of his I Want Blood Tour earlier in May. Filter were announced as the headliner of Cantrell’s tour, which was planned to start on August 16 in San Diego.

Following Richard Patrick’s health struggles that prevented Filter from joining Cantrell on tour, Alice in Chains guitarist now has no opening band for his upcoming shows. Although the guitarist reposted Filter’s announcement on canceling their tour, he hasn’t revealed the new band that will join him for his 20-date run.
