Fear Factory’s Dino Cazares recently discussed the band’s upcoming record featuring new singer Milo Silvestro. He revealed how the vocalist has transformed the group’s sound while maintaining their core identity. The guitarist shared his thoughts in an interview with Sense Music Media.

Cazares expressed enthusiasm about the new material. He highlighted the balance between brutality and melody that defines the upcoming release.

“I’m very excited to release it. It’s got its brutal moments. It’s got its beautiful melodic moments. You really see the differences between Milo and our past singer,” Cazares said.

The guitarist emphasized how the new vocalist has brought his own style while preserving Fear Factory’s signature elements.

“Milo definitely comes into his own, you know what I mean? But we didn’t lose any of what Fear Factory is as far as the melodic vocals and as far as the aggressive guitars and drum beats and stuff like that. And of course the futuristic soundscapes that we use on it,” he continued.

Cazares also touched on the album’s thematic content, which explores contemporary technological concerns.

“Dystopian lyrics, you know, the relationship between man and machine and you know where AI technology has taken us and how much it’s evolved and where we are now and where we are in the future,” he explained.

The guitarist revealed a collaborative approach to ensure the material met the band’s standards regarding the songwriting process.

“I mean lyrically, yes, we’ve all contributed lyrics. Meaning like me, Milo, the producer, um and a couple other producers that we had um all contributed to some of Milo’s lyrics. We wanted to make sure that it was uh it was all proper and it was all exactly up to Fear Factory standards,” Cazares said.

The upcoming album represents a significant milestone for Fear Factory. It marks their return to the studio after years of lineup changes and touring commitments.

Blabbermouth reported that Fear Factory is preparing to release their new studio album before the end of 2026 via Nuclear Blast. The release marks the band’s first full-length record with vocalist Milo Silvestro and drummer Pete Webber, who have been touring with the band for three years. The album was initially delayed after Burton C. Bell’s departure in 2021. The band focused on touring to support their previous record Aggression Continuum with Silvestro’s vocals.

In recent interviews, Cazares described the upcoming material as “heavy” and “modern” with “a lot of great programming” and “cool little surprises.” He emphasized that Silvestro has fully developed into his own as a vocalist rather than simply replacing the previous singer. Silvestro brings “his own little niche” while honoring the band’s signature sound.

The band has confirmed that a new single will be released “really soon”. Cazares previously delayed the release to allow Silvestro more time to develop as the band’s frontman. This strategic approach demonstrates the band’s commitment to ensuring their new material meets the high standards fans expect from Fear Factory.

Fear Factory has announced extensive touring for 2026 beyond the new album. The touring includes a co-headlining tour with Mushroomhead, followed by the “Cybernetic Domination” U.S. tour in November with support from Darkest Hour and Brotality. The band is also performing an Australian tour celebrating 35 years of their career. This showcases their enduring influence in the metal scene.
