Fear Factory’s Dino Cazares talked about on X why the King Diamond live collaboration won’t happen.
“Dino, Do you think King Diamond would do guest vocals on ‘Edgecrusher’ at this show?” a fan asked the guitarist when he posted the lineup for the Hellsinki Metal Festival.
Cazares responded to the user, writing, “I’m sure he would but in reality, he wouldn’t be able to do it because he goes on after us and he would have to save his voice for his show.”
Hellsinki Metal Festival will take place on August 8-9 2025 in Finland. King Diamond will be headlining the festival along with Fear Factory, Old Man’s Child, Decapitated, Napalm Death, Watain, Aura Noir, and Enslaved.
Hellsinki Metal Festival promoter Toni Törrönen said there’s no need to change what works. He also pointed out that an artist’s popularity isn’t the only factor in choosing the lineup.
He explained, “Artist selections are always based on quality, customer feedback, and exclusivity. I’ve found that Hellsinki Metal Festival customers appreciate finding performers and special shows in the program that they might not have expected.”
The Festival will take place at the Helsinki Ice Hall area as usual, with two outdoor stages and the ice hall for attendees. The area for side events will be bigger this year. Törrönen also said the biggest change at Nordis will be the size of the outdoor stages. He noted, “Two years of experience has shown that the Helsinki Ice Hall area is overall a good home for Hellsinki Metal Festival.”
Fear Factory will also be touring with Coal Chamber next year. Earlier this year, Coal Chamber fans were disappointed when the ‘Fiend For The Fans’ tour was postponed because frontman Dez Fafara had health issues. After the postponement, new dates for next year were recently announced.
Along with Fear Factory, Black Satellite, and Wednesday 13 will also be supporting the band. Now, the tour has added ten more dates. The tour kicks off on March 5 in Denver, Colorado.
