Falling In Reverse frontman Ronnie Radke recently shared a series of tweets where he stated he’s the trailblazer as the first rap and metal singer.

Radke posted an image depicting a thought bubble over someone’s head saying, ‘Yes, you all are wrong,’ as he stands alone amidst a crowd, symbolizing his disagreement with the prevailing opinions. He wrote:

“Me in 2013 doing rap and metal my own way.”

Fan Critique And Radke’s Clarification

Then, a user responded to the singer, expressing their opposition to Ronnie:

“Rap and metal was going on long, long before that. While you were still doing pop punk, there were plenty of bands doing rap rock.”

The musician noted in his response:

“Not the way I do it. They do rap rock; I do rap and rock. How are you speaking English? You’re a dog.”

Diverse Opinions From Fans

While some users defended the frontman, referring to his unique way of vocal style, some claimed there were other names before him. One comment said:

“Ronnie is the only person on earth capable of doing it the way he does.”

Another one disagreed with Radke and offered other notable figures of the genre, as they wrote:

“Bro, you’re not even half as notable nor as gifted as Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park, who was doing rap and rock a solid 15 years before Falling In Reverse was even founded. Not forgetting Zack de la Rocha, the lead of RATM.”

Radke’s Personal Connection To Rap

Falling In Reverse’s foray into rap music happened with their second studio album, ‘Fashionably Late.’ They blended their metalcore sound with elements from the rap genre. Speaking of that record and his relation to rap in a 2013 interview, Radke said:

“My dad raised me on metal, but my first serious love was hip-hop. When I heard Dr. Dre’s ‘The Chronic,’ that’s when I fell in love. I didn’t know what the hell they were talking about; the beats were intertwined, and it came inside of me and took me over.”

He added, sharing his opinions on adding rap on the album:

“When we added hip-hop elements I was thinking, ‘Should I do this? This sounds crazy! Are people going to like this?’ Now, I’ve never been so proud of something. The final product, ‘Fashionably Late,’ is the best work I’ve ever done.”

Radke hinted at his rap skills in Falling In Reverse’s debut album, incorporating a Dr. Dre and Eminem beat in ‘Sink or Swim.’ His live freestyle during a show marked his first public rap performance. He further showed his rap talents in a feature on Deuce’s ‘Nine Lives’ album, particularly on the track ‘Nobody Likes Me.’ In 2014, the singer also released his debut solo rap mixtape named ‘Watch Me.’
