Recently talking to NME, former Oasis guitarist Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs shared insights into Liam Gallagher’s new project with Stone Roses guitarist John Squire. Although not involved in the collaboration, Bonehead revealed that he has heard the entire upcoming album. Bonehead, keeping details under wraps, chose not to disclose specifics about the album, preferring to maintain the suspense and let Liam Gallagher himself unveil the project. He said:
“I’m not involved in any way whatsoever, but I’ve heard it. I’m not going to tell you anything. I’m going to keep you all in suspense. I’m not gonna say it’s this, that or whatever, but I’ve heard it from start to finish, and I’ll keep you all going, ‘Go on, tell us, tell us, tell us.’ I shall leave it to the man himself. It’s very good.”
Noel Gallagher Had Some Comments About The Upcoming Album

The album’s title and release date have not been fully revealed, but press materials refer to a full album and indicate live concerts for the duo. What we do know is that there will be a single from the album in January. But this won’t be the first time the duo has worked together, as their musical journeys have crossed paths more than once. Squire played live with Oasis and later Liam Gallagher in performances of the song ‘Champagne Supernova.’ In 1997, Gallagher co-wrote a song with Squire called ‘Love Me and Leave Me,’ which was recorded by Squire’s band, ‘The Seahorses.’
Noel Gallagher, of course, had something to say about this collaboration. He has made some rather humorous statements about his brother and John Squire’s upcoming album. Focusing specifically on possible live performances of Oasis songs, Noel suggested that John Squire would have to adjust his guitar playing style to fit the band’s repertoire. On Matt Morgan’s podcast, he said:
“Presumably, if he makes an album with our kid, he’ll go on the road, and then obviously, they’ll be doing lots of Oasis songs. So, I mean, he’ll have to simplify his playing somewhat.”
Liam’s response to comments made on the podcast on social platform X was no better. He said:
“What a pair of c**nts.”
We will see how the duo’s project unfolds next year.
