John Corabi, former Mötley Crüe vocalist, revealed his unexpected ban from the Monsters of Rock Cruise during a recent interview with Chuck Shute.
“I used to be the mayor, but I’ve been demoted. I’m not allowed to do them anymore. I’ve been banned,” Corabi stated when discussing his cruise presence. “It’s a long story. It’s unfortunate.”
“It’s just a stupid political whatever. It is what it is,” he continued. “Unfortunately, this guy will not be doing the Monsters of Rock cruises anytime in the near future as much as I love doing them.”
The news shocked many fans. Corabi had been a regular performer and popular figure on the Monsters of Rock Cruise, earning the nickname ‘the mayor’ from fans and fellow musicians.
This unexpected announcement signaled a major change in Corabi’s relationship with the cruise event, where he had maintained a strong presence since its inception.
May The Rock Be With You documented Corabi’s early involvement with the cruise. He performed at the inaugural event in February 2012 alongside Cinderella and Tesla.
The cruise has evolved into a cornerstone of the rock music scene. Data from Setlist.fm shows that 218 different artists have graced its stages throughout its history.
Corabi’s musical journey has continued beyond the cruise. The Rockpit highlighted his extensive touring schedule in 2019. He completed European, U.S., and Australian tours while The Dead Daisies took a break.
His reputation for diverse musical selections and engaging storytelling made him a cruise favorite. His absence from future Monsters of Rock Cruise events will impact both the artist and the cruise’s dedicated audience.
