Former Arch Enemy vocalist Angela Gossow recently confirmed her willingness to perform with the band for single shows. She also praised the group’s newly announced singer Lauren Hart in a statement shared on Instagram.
Gossow’s comments addressed both her potential future involvement with Arch Enemy and her strong support for the band’s new vocalist.
“Yes, I am down for doing single shows,” Gossow said.
The former vocalist also expressed her admiration for Lauren Hart. She described their close relationship and shared musical background.
“My sister at heart. Such a warm and genuine human,” she continued. “We share the same taste in music, the same vocal technique and dedication to music, people and fitness. We have known each other personally since many years. Been following her journey with Once Human, was hoping for her breakthrough. Then I crossed my fingers for her joining another known metal band. Didn’t work out. She never gave up!”
Gossow further detailed the process that led to Hart joining Arch Enemy.
“We received many applications from great vocalists all over the world,” she explained. “I put Lauren forward to the guys. Michael connected. She recorded vocals in December 2025. She rose. Like a Phoenix to the sky. So intense. So glorious.”
This announcement comes amid significant changes within Arch Enemy’s lineup. It follows weeks of speculation about the band’s future direction.
The vocalist search became necessary after Alissa White-Gluz’s departure from Arch Enemy in late 2025. Her exit ended her 12-year tenure with the Swedish melodic death metal band. Parade reported that White-Gluz’s departure marked the end of an era for the band, which had achieved significant commercial success during her time as frontwoman.
Prior to Hart’s announcement, speculation ran rampant about Gossow’s potential return to the band. Lambgoat revealed that Gossow actually considered rejoining Arch Enemy as their full-time vocalist. She ultimately decided against it, choosing instead to recommend Hart for the position.
The band’s cryptic social media teasers in February 2026 initially fueled rumors about Gossow’s return. Blunt Magazine noted that Arch Enemy shared mysterious posts that led fans to believe a reunion with their former vocalist was imminent. These rumors were later dispelled.
Gossow’s praise for Hart extends beyond their personal relationship. The former vocalist described Hart in particularly striking terms. Metal Injection reported that Gossow hailed Hart as “Angela reincarnate.” This suggests she sees remarkable similarities between herself and the new vocalist in terms of vocal approach and stage presence.
This announcement marks a significant development for Arch Enemy as they move forward with their new lineup while maintaining connections to their previous era.
