Evan Rachel Wood Gives Further Details On Marilyn Manson Case

Actress Evan Rachel Wood talked about her journey in the recently released trailer for HBO’s ‘Phoenix Rising.’ In the second part of the documentary, Wood details her activism and sexual assault allegations against Marilyn Manson.

Last year, multiple women came forward regarding their traumatizing experiences with Marilyn Manson and unveiled how he abused them both sexually and psychologically throughout their relationship. The first person who encouraged other women to come forward was actress Evan Rachel Wood who had a relationship with the rocker from 2006 to 2011.

Since Wood shared a post on her official Instagram account and publicly announced that Manson abused her for years, 16 women have come forward and targetted the musician. However, Manson has denied every single one of those claims and remained silent throughout this entire process, during which his label, manager, and agent dropped him.

The first part of a documentary including Wood and other women who accused Manson of abuse entitled ‘Phoenix Rising: Don’t Fall‘ premiered at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival last month. In the film, Wood recounted being groomed into a tumultuous relationship with Manson and revealed horrifying details about their affair.

The second part of the documentary will air on HBO, and its trailer was recently released on YouTube. In the video, Evan Rachel Wood reflects on the beginning of her journey and how she was surprised to see many other women who had been in the same situation.

In addition to this, Wood stated that they are telling their story because things need to change as none of them want to see another woman being abused. The actress revealed this was the first time she felt like people were listening to her and believing her instead of doubting her statements.

In the trailer, Wood said:

“It’s really hard for me to look at photos of myself from before. I’ve kept this journal since I was fifteen. I’m here today to talk about Brian Warner, also known to the world as Marilyn Manson. Numerous women heard my story, and they knew exactly who it was. I realized that I wasn’t the only one that this had happened.

I became an activist, fighting for victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Not only did people hear our stories, but they said, ‘Yeah, we hear you, and something does need to change.’ We need to make sure that this doesn’t happen to anybody else.

I realized that this is the first time I haven’t been doubted, questioned, or shamed. This was the first time that someone was really listening. I was like, ‘What is this feeling?’ This is the feeling of being believed.”

While many people in the comments section applauded Evan Rachel Wood for being brave about her story, numerous Marilyn Manson fans thought making a documentary based on allegations wasn’t fair. It appears that although Wood has supporters, there are people who think her story was made-up for attention or money.
