Eric Clapton Releases A New Song, ‘Pompous Fool’

The Yardbirds and Cream icon Eric Clapton recently made his fans happy by releasing a new song, ‘Pompous Fool.’ The unexpected song received positive reactions from the fans.

Besides playing with the bands like the Yardbirds, John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, and Cream, Eric Clapton also pursued a solo career. He was counted among the most influential guitarists and praised by music critics. Clapton’s self-titled debut album came out in 1970 and received positive reviews.

The second record, ‘461 Ocean Boulevard,’ was released four years after the debut album. While the album reached the top of various countries’ charts, the song ‘I Shot the Sheriff’ became a hit single. Clapton’s achievements as a solo artist continued with commercially successful records like ‘No Reason To Cry’ and ‘Slowhand.’

The guitarist’s most recent album ‘Happy Xmas,’ which included Christmas-themed covers, was released on October 12, 2018. The following year, he took the stage on several shows in Europe, Japan, and the Southwestern United States. Later, Clapton hit the road again to appear in a few performances in the United States.

Recently, the guitarist has shared thrilling news with his fans. He surprisingly released a new track entitled ‘Pompous Fool‘ without giving any prior information. Besides being happy to hear a new song from the musician, the fans also discuss whether the piece is related to the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson, who recently resigned.

The main reason for these discussions was that Clapton released the song, ‘Stand and Deliver,’ in 2020 to protest the British government’s regulations. Although there is no specific information about the new track, the audience continues to deliver their opinions besides enjoying the latest release from Clapton in the comments section on the guitarist’s official YouTube channel.
