Emily Armstrong shared her thoughts about keeping a major Linkin Park-related secret during a recent interview with Q101.

“Believe me I wanted to at some points and it just got to the point where I was just like, ‘Oh my God, could this just be over?’ I just started getting so annoyed,” Armstrong said about keeping her role as Linkin Park’s new vocalist. “I was so excited for a while and then it was just like frustration at the end. And obviously it’s still so.”

“Because there’s so many nerves you know where you’re just like, ‘I want this to stop. I want these nerves to just go away,'” she continued. “But and at the time I’m like, ‘You know what? This only happens once.’ Just try to take it in. Take it in every day.”

“So, you kind of get ahead of yourself. All this push and pull from your mind,” Armstrong explained. “And so you just have to kind of be like, ‘You know what? This is only gonna happen once.’ So then, that kind of grounded me.”

Armstrong’s comments reflect a crucial moment in her career as she steps into her new role with one of rock’s most influential bands.

Loudwire reported Armstrong’s appointment as Linkin Park’s new co-lead vocalist in September 2024. This marked a significant change for the band after Chester Bennington’s passing in 2017.

The band has already released their new album titled ‘From Zero’ on November 15, 2024. Armstrong previously led the Los Angeles-based band Dead Sara. Her distinctive vocal style draws inspiration from legendary artists like Nirvana and Janis Joplin.

This collaboration represents one of the most significant changes in Linkin Park’s lineup since their formation. The band enters a new chapter while maintaining their musical legacy.

The partnership between Armstrong and Linkin Park opens fresh creative possibilities. They continue to honor the band’s established sound while forging ahead with new material.
