Emily Armstrong discussed the band’s approach to her integration as Linkin Park’s new vocalist in a recent interview with 979GRD.

“I’m very happy we had that time for ourselves, and to really figure it out and write the album with no pressure,” Armstrong said. “The pressure was only what we brought upon ourselves.”

“Like, we didn’t have expectations of… it was like, maybe this album will take or maybe it won’t,” she continued. “But we know right now, what we feel is the right thing. There’s no way I would’ve been able to do it if we [first] announced it and then go work on it.”

The band made a strategic decision to work on their new album before publicly announcing Armstrong as their new vocalist.

This approach has proven successful for the band’s next chapter. Alternative Press reported that Linkin Park unveiled Emily Armstrong as their new co-vocalist during a livestream event on September 5, 2024. This announcement marked a significant milestone in the band’s history.

Rare Form Audio revealed that the new album ‘From Zero’ was released on November 15, 2024, via Warner Records. This release represents the band’s first album since 2017, following Chester Bennington’s passing.

The album showcases eleven tracks. These include ‘From Zero (Intro),’ ‘The Emptiness Machine,’ and ‘Heavy Is The Crown.’ The collection demonstrates the band’s evolution while preserving their signature sound.

Bass player Dave ‘Phoenix’ Farrell expressed strong support for Armstrong’s addition to the band. Blabbermouth captured Farrell’s praise of Armstrong as an ‘absolute destroyer vocally.’ He noted her seamless integration into the band’s dynamics.

Mike Shinoda highlighted the new lineup’s impact. Armstrong’s presence has reinvigorated the band’s creative energy. This has enabled them to produce vibrant music while honoring their legacy.
