Emerson, Lake & Palmer Drummer Reveals He Is Eager To Tour After Heart Surgery

Emerson, Lake & Palmer’s drummer, Carl Palmer, is looking forward to hitting the road again after his recent heart surgery. In an update to fans, Palmer shared a video on Facebook expressing his eagerness to return to performing live on ‘The Return Of Emerson, Lake & Palmer’ tour.

Carl Palmer underwent heart surgery, specifically an atrial fibrillation ablation, and is in a recovery period. In his recent video update on Facebook, he thanked his fans for their support and spoke highly of his surgeon for the successful operation. Palmer then mentioned that he now feels really good after the two-hour procedure and plans to take a few days to recuperate.

Here is what Carl Palmer said in the video update:

“I just want you to know I’m back home now, feeling really good. The people at the Brompton Hospital were fantastic; the Royal Brompton in London. And my surgeon, Tushar Salukhe — fantastic man. It was about a two-hour procedure, and I’m just gonna take the next two or three days just to kind of recuperate. But all looking real good.”

The much-anticipated ‘The Return Of Emerson, Lake & Palmer‘ tour is set to kick off in July 2023. The tour will feature Carl Palmer performing live with a backing band, accompanied by archived live footage and audio of the late Keith Emerson and Greg Lake, who both passed away in 2016. In the video, Palmer expressed his excitement to see all the fans during the tour, with July being his main goal.

Palmer continued:

“I’m looking forward to seeing all of you — that’s the most important thing — in July; that’s my aim.

After a successful heart surgery and a short recovery period, Carl Palmer is eager to get back on stage and bring Emerson, Lake & Palmer’s music to life once more. The tour is scheduled to begin on July 8 in West Jefferson, NC, at Saloon Studios Live. Fans of the band will surely be excited to see Palmer back in action and hear their favorite tunes live again.
