Elvis Presley’s Ex-Wife Priscilla Gets Emotional Over Elvis’ Biopic

Elvis Presley’s ex-wife Priscilla recently took her official Instagram account to share her feelings on the upcoming film, ‘Elvis,’ which will focus on the story and career of the famous rock star.

The first news about the project appeared in the media in April 2014. The Australian director Baz Luhrmann contacted the biopic’s then-scriptwriter Kelly Marcel to direct the film. There was no news about the movie for a long time. In March 2019, it was announced that Tom Hanks would play the role of Colonel Tom Parker, who was the manager of Elvis Presley.

The crew started to go through the candidates for the role of Presley. Eventually, the team picked Austin Butler as Elvis and Olivia DeJonge as Priscilla Presley for the parts. The filming started in 2020, and the long-term wait is almost over now. ‘Elvis’ will have its world premiere at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival and is scheduled to be released in the United States on June 24, 2022.

Priscilla Presley’s relationship with the rocker will also play a significant role in the film. Priscilla shared a short clip from the film and stated that the biopic ‘brought tears.’ Her daughter Lisa Marie Presley also really liked the movie. Priscilla revealed that it took her a few days to deal with the emotions the film brought. She ended her statement by praising the film crew, the director Baz Luhrmann, Austin Butler, Tom Hanks, and Olivia DeJonge for doing a great job.

The caption of Priscilla Presley’s Instagram post read:

“I’ve seen ‘Elvis’ the film; I watched the trailer over a dozen times. But the words I heard from my daughter on how much she loved the film and that Riley will love it too when she sees it brought tears. I relived every moment in this film. It took me a few days to overcome the emotions as it did with Lisa. Beautifully done, Baz, Tom, Austin, and Olivia.”
