Elton John Announces His COVID Diagnosis And Postpones Upcoming Shows

Iconic musician Sir Elton John recently shared an Instagram story in which he confirmed that he tested positive for COVID-19, and due to that, he will postpone his upcoming shows.

With the emergence of the Omicron variant, the spreading of the coronavirus has become a more serious issue. Those who haven’t contracted the virus are now more susceptible, thus the positive cases are on the rise. This indeed has had its effects on the music world as well, as often a new famous figure announces a coronavirus diagnosis.

Recently, Elton John made an announced in an Instagram story that he joined those who are coronavirus positive. He stated in his IG story that he has contracted the virus and had to reschedule his upcoming shows in Dallas. Moreover, John said he was so sorry for the inconvenience, but he then made it clear that new dates will be announced soon.

Elton John said he decided to reschedule shows to keep himself and his team safe. He also claimed that with the help of being fully vaccinated, his symptoms are mild, and he is expecting to make it to his Arkansas shows scheduled for January 29 and 30. Following that, John thanked his fans for their love and support.

“Hi everyone, I wanted to send a message to let you know that I have contracted COVID and so have had to reschedule my shows in Dallas. If you have tickets, you’ll be contacted with the new dates really soon. It’s always a massive disappointment to move shows and I’m so sorry to anyone who’s been inconvenienced by this but I want to keep myself and my team safe.

Fortunately, I’m fully vaccinated and boosted and my symptoms are mild, so I’m fully expecting to be able to make the Arkansas shows this weekend. As always, thank you for all your love and support, and I can’t wait to see you all soon!”

Elton John had just returned to the stages after a nearly two-year hiatus due to the pandemic. The iconic musician was on the road for his Elton And The Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour, and he was scheduled to perform at American Airlines Center in Dallas on January 24 and 25, before canceling the dates.
