Doug Aldrich, former Whitesnake guitarist, discussed his relationship with David Coverdale and the band in a recent interview with 101 WRIF.

The guitarist addressed questions about his current involvement with Whitesnake and provided details about Coverdale’s recent activities.

“No, David’s got a killer band with Joel. I don’t even know what they’re doing,” Aldrich said. “I know David’s put out a lot of re-releases and different stuff that we did you know with extra bits. He’s busy doing that stuff right now. Basically, since the time that I joined the Dead Daisies it’s really been a priority.”

The conversation turned to Coverdale’s social media presence, specifically his Twitter activity. Aldrich shared insights about the vocalist’s current lifestyle.

“He took to that pretty much and like certain people, they really do a lot of communication to people on Twitter. Yeah, he’s always posting and reposting. He’s got a lot of time right now. I think he’s semi-retired or whatever,” Aldrich explained. “And I think they’re talking about him doing… He’ll always have offers to tour or to do a residency or whatever. But I think he’s worked really hard his whole life and he’s just enjoying it right now.”

Coverdale maintains an active presence in managing Whitesnake’s legacy releases and social media engagement. He appears to be taking a more relaxed approach to his career.

Aldrich’s musical journey has evolved with new challenges and achievements since his departure from Whitesnake.

The Dead Daisies, featuring Aldrich, will release their new album ‘Lookin’ For Trouble’ on May 30, 2025, via Fame/Malaco Records, as revealed by All Music Magazine. The blues covers album was recorded at the historic Fame Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.

Aldrich received a diagnosis of treatable throat cancer in 2024. Despite this challenge, he has maintained his musical career. American Songwriter confirmed his return to the band for their 2025 European tour.

Blabbermouth highlighted The Dead Daisies’ milestone achievement. The band will make their debut appearance at the UK’s Stonedead Festival. Special guests Scarlet Rebels and The Treatment will support the performance.

Aldrich continues his dedication to music as he forges ahead in his career. Meanwhile, his former Whitesnake bandmate Coverdale follows his own path in the industry.
