Deep Purple keyboardist Don Airey shared insights about the band’s current status in a recent interview with Louder Sound.
The veteran musician addressed questions about Deep Purple’s plans for 2025. He explained that the band is currently taking some time off after their recent tour activities.
“I only came off the road with Purple on the nineteenth of December. So we’re having a bit of a break,” Airey said. “Once the dust has settled down a bit we can look to the future, I should think.”
The band maintains an active touring schedule despite their current break.

The legendary rock group has already outlined their upcoming plans. A report from Brooklyn Vegan confirmed Deep Purple will launch their ‘1 More Time Tour’ across US amphitheaters in 2024. They will share the stage with Yes during this run.
The upcoming tour will mark a significant milestone. It celebrates 50 years since the release of their iconic track “Smoke on the Water.”
The band’s recent tour completion and future commitments showcase their ongoing dedication to live performances. They continue this commitment even as they take their current break to recharge.
