Cazares was asked about the mixed responses to how much the song echoes the band’s classic sound. Some listeners said it was too much like Fear Factory, while others felt it was not enough. Comments also focused on whether Silvestro’s voice was too similar to or too different from original Fear Factory singer Burton C. Bell.

“Well, I don’t understand why they would need to say that because Fear Factory is my style, pretty much,” Cazares said. “I’ve read so many comments where some people are, like, ‘It’s too much like Fear Factory.’ ‘It’s not enough like Fear Factory.’ ‘He’s [Milo] too much like [original Fear Factory singer] Burt [Burton C. Bell].’ ‘He’s not enough like Burt.’ And it’s, like, you can’t win, so you put it out and hope for the best.”

Cazares expressed his own enthusiasm for the band’s new material. “For me personally, I love the new song. I love the [upcoming Fear Factory full-length] record, and I can’t wait for people to hear the rest of it. It is diverse. It does have a lot of Fear Factory elements that people know, but it also goes into different elements as well. And, of course, Milo does introduce different styles of vocals.”

He explained the band’s approach to the new single and what comes next. “We wanted to put out just a quick banger — just a really quick banger just to get it out there. And I think the new song that we’ve got coming out after this is gonna be a little different too. But you’re still gonna say, ‘Okay, that’s still Fear Factory.’ And you’re still gonna notice that it still has our formula, yes, but there’s just new, different elements that add to it.”

Cazares made these comments as Fear Factory prepares to release more material from their upcoming record. The band is working to balance their signature sound with fresh direction.

Fear Factory released “Roboticist,” their first new song with vocalist Milo Silvestro, on August 29, 2026. This marked the band’s first new music since their 2021 album Aggression Continuum. The “Roboticist” release came as the band launched their “Cybernetic Domination” European tour with Crystal Lake, Hate and The Nocturnal Affair, which kicked off in Poznan, Poland and concluded on October 10 in London, United Kingdom.

Silvestro joined Fear Factory in 2023 after an audition process that included 300 different vocalists. Cazares discovered the singer through videos of him performing Fear Factory covers and selected him to replace Burton C. Bell, who left the band in 2020. Silvestro had been the vocalist for Dead Channel before joining the band.

The upcoming studio album is tentatively due in late 2026 or early 2027 through Nuclear Blast. According to Cazares, the album’s themes continue the band’s longstanding exploration of the relationship between man and machine, with technology catching up to ideas the band has discussed over the years. Cazares revealed that “Roboticist” was originally written as an instrumental before being rearranged for the album version.

Fear Factory also announced a fall U.S. headlining tour for 2026 dubbed the Cybernetic Domination Tour, with Darkest Hour and Brotality joining as support acts across cities in the western and central United States in November.
