Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider took to X to share his reaction to the question he received in a fan interaction — the plot twist is, it was about Ace Frehley.
He wrote: “I was walking through a store when I heard a voice behind me calling, ‘Dee! Dee!’ It’s always nice to meet a fan so I stop & say, ‘What’s up?’ ‘I have to ask you a question,’ he says. ‘Yes?’ I reply, expecting something Twisted Sister related. ‘How tall is Ace Frehley?’ WTF!?”
When another fan wanted to know about Frehley’s height and asked the rocker in response, Snider replied, “If only there was a handheld device that could give us the answer. Oh wait… there is!”
Snider and KISS have had interactions over the years. In fact, Snider has often criticized KISS and made comments about their farewell tour.
“The idea of the farewell tour, I don’t know what to believe,” he shared during an interview with The Metal Voice. “And people say, ‘Well, do you think it’s for real?’ I said, ‘This is what I know: when I see the bodies in the Kiss coffins, then I’ll say, ‘They’re done. They’re done.’ When they’re laying there in the coffins, I’ll say, ‘Good work. Good job.'”
He even criticized KISS for allowing replacement members to wear the signature stage makeup of original guitarist Ace Frehley and drummer Peter Criss. “I hate what Kiss is doing,” the singer said in the Appetite for Distortion podcast. “I hate what Kiss is doing with the guys with Ace and Peter’s makeup on — I’m not a fan.”
While KISS is done with touring for good, Snider is performing in French Lick, Indiana next year on March 1.
