Dee Snider Responds To Hypocrisy Claims About His Stance On Social Media Censorship
In a recent tweet, Dee Snider stated that he had not changed his side about the issue of censorship on Twitter when a user accused him of being a hypocrite.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk bought Twitter in exchange for 44 billion dollars. Following this news, many people expressed their opinions regarding this change in one of the most popular social media platforms. The primary reason behind the attention surrounding this issue is that Musk decided to make changes in Twitter’s politics of freedom of speech.
Twitter users have been talking about this, although there is no ultimate decision on this matter. Several rock stars also joined the discussion and shared their ideas about the future of Twitter. KISS bassist Gene Simmons commented on this in the previous days, saying that freedom of speech should not mean hate speech and lies.
Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider mentioned that Elon Musk should not remove the ban on Donald Trump on the issue of freedom of speech. When a Twitter user described Snider’s opinion as hypocrisy, the rocker declared that he has always supported the idea of free speech. However, he has never endorsed people hurting each other under the name of free speech, as he stated. Snider added that he had not changed his opinions on this issue.
The rocker wrote in the tweet:
“Dear idiots (you’re one of them): I fought for free speech. I never fought for screaming ‘fire’ in a crowded movie theater when. Spouting proven lies on social media is the equivalent. People can get hurt. And for the record, I haven’t changed my positions. You idiots have.”
