Dee Snider Admits He Likes Rap Music

Twisted Sister icon Dee Snider took his official Twitter account to reflect his thoughts on the 2022 Super Bowl halftime show. The rocker revealed that he really enjoyed listening to the rap performances on the show.

The Super Bowl halftime show took place on February 13, 2022, at SoFi Stadium in California. The show featured special performances from Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, and Kendrick Lamar. It also marked the first time that the halftime show lineup consisted entirely of rap headliners. The show did achieve critical acclaim, and especially, the lineup and the setlist of the show were highly praised by the critics.

The timing was also balanced for the audience, which allowed each artist to perform their biggest hits. The show had an average of 103.4 million viewers, which was higher than the game itself. Dee Snider also took the social media stage to share his opinions during the show. Snider stated that he couldn’t hear the prerecorded vocals in the mix during the halftime show.

Later on, a user replied to him by saying that he must have hated the show as it featured solely rap performances rather than rock, which is something Dee has always requested. Then, the frontman wrote that he didn’t hate it because he likes listening to rap. Snider clarified his point by stating that he literally couldn’t hear the vocals, and that’s why he posted this tweet to ask if he was the only one who couldn’t hear them.

Dee Snider’s Twitter post read:

“Am I the only one who couldn’t hear the damn (prerecorded) vocals in the mix on at the Super Bowl halftime show?!”

Then, a user’s response to him:

Don’t hate.”

Snider replied by saying:

“I’m not! I like rap. I just couldn’t hear the vocals.”
