On his official YouTube channel, David Lee Roth shared a video where he danced to Pitbull’s ‘Don’t Stop the Party,’ receiving a ‘hacky and dated’ comment from one of his fans.
The former Van Halen singer initially shared various videos on YouTube, including radio broadcasts. However, lately, he has mainly posted dance videos, leaving viewers with mixed feelings and sort of dividing them into two. One of the negative comments said:
“How about an actual podcast instead of these hacky, dated clips, Dave? You know so much about the business of music. I think it would be very successful and lucrative. Let me produce it for you, Dave; the world needs it.”
Another comment referred to the quality of his videos and noted:
“It’s going from bad to worse.”
However, besides these negative reactions, some also responded positively. One of them said:
“Just when you think you know who Roth is, you don’t. That’s what makes him an important entertainer.”
Another fan wrote, expressing feelings about the dance videos:
“Diamond Dave! A living Legend! Love that he’s putting out these snippets!”
Still, his performances weren’t without their share of unfortunate incidents, including when he accidentally damaged studio equipment while dancing to Annie Lennox’s ‘Little Bird’ several months ago.
Later, DLR also posted other videos that showed him dancing to his rendition of ‘Made Up My Mind,’ a song originally performed by Savoy Brown and featured on his 2003 album’ Diamond Dave’ and Jamiroquai’s ‘Canned Heat.’ One of the fans said the following about the ‘Canned Heat’ video:
“Dave is entertainment. The man never stops or even slows down. Everything he does, he does well. I would be happy to be half as successful and healthy as Dave at his age, but at 50 years old, those dreams have passed me by. Diamond Dave will live on well past his earthbound years.”
