David Draiman, the lead vocalist of rock band Disturbed, recently addressed fan concerns following the band’s announcement of a touring hiatus. He shared his perspective on X (formerly Twitter).
The statement sought to clarify the reasons behind the break and counter media speculation about the band’s status and internal dynamics.
“For the record; Taking a break because we’re TIRED, PERIOD,” Draiman stated. “Any spin by the media is just that…spin. We’re all doing great, and are on great terms.”
Draiman emphasized the band’s recent touring success. He hinted at future plans to return to the road.
“The European tour was the biggest of our career. We played to packed arenas every night. Let’s do it again sometime,” he added.
Disturbed concluded an extensive touring cycle that left the band members exhausted. The band is taking a “nice long break” following the conclusion of their “The Sickness 25th Anniversary Tour” across the UK and Europe, which ended in late October 2024, according to Metal Injection. This tour marked a significant milestone for the band, with Draiman emphasizing that the European leg was their most successful to date.
Consequence reported that Disturbed is taking a long break in 2024 primarily because the band members are tired and need to rest after a demanding touring schedule. The break is not due to any controversy or internal conflict, but rather simple fatigue from months of intense performances without adequate personal time.
Draiman emphasized the need for downtime to recuperate and spend time with family and friends after the grueling tour schedule. The PRP noted that the frontman made it clear the primary reason for Disturbed’s tour break is exhaustion and burnout from extended touring. The band wants to rest and recharge before resuming live performances.
The band has not provided a specific timeline for their return to touring. Fans are left to anticipate when Disturbed will hit the road again. However, Draiman’s reassurance that the members are “all doing great, and are on great terms” suggests that the hiatus is temporary. The band remains united in their decision to prioritize rest and recovery.
