Dave Mustaine Bids Farewell To Alexi Laiho By Calling Him A ‘Very Gentle Spirit With An Amazing Talent’

During a recent appearance of his own The Dave Mustaine Show, Megadeth founder Dave Mustaine talked about the passing of Children Of Bodom frontman Alexi Laiho.

As you might already remember, Alexi is the co-founder of Children Of Bodom, and he was one of the greatest guitarists and vocalists in the scene. Unfortunately, he passed away last month due to long-term health issues.

Dave Mustaine wanted to pay his tribute to the Finnish frontman and showed how much he is impressed by his iconic Vivaldi’s The Four Season metal cover performance.

While Dave was saying that it was really tragic to learn about Alexi’s death, he also wanted to praise his talent and said that he knew Alexi as a very gentle spirit with amazing talent.

Here is what Dave Mustaine said:

“We had a tragic loss last week with my friend, and I’m sure a lot of your friend loss also. I’m sure a lot of you were friends with this gentleman too — Alexi Laiho from Children Of Bodom passed away.

They didn’t really have anything to say about how he passed away other than he’d been battling some long-term illnesses. I knew him as a very gentle spirit with an amazing talent.”

He added:

“In fact, when I was doing the ‘Symphony Interrupted’ performance, I watched he and his other guitar player — I can’t remember the guitar player’s name — but they did the Vivaldi part.

It was one of the two Vivaldi pieces that I did; I can’t remember their names right now off the top of my head. Rest in peace my friend.”
