Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl spoke in a recent interview with Classic Rock and revealed the story of why Axl Rose bought an expensive guitar for him.
Back in 2015, Dave fell off the stage during the show and suffered from a serious injury from his legs. However, this couldn’t stop Dave to perform on the stage, and he brought a gigantic throne to continue playing on the shows.
After a long time, Axl Rose asked him if he could borrow the throne for the shows of Guns N’ Roses, and Dave did not reject this offer. Because of that, Axl wanted to give a present for Dave to show his gratitude.
Axl sent Slash to bought a perfect guitar of Dave, which is a Gibson ES 335 Dot, and Dave stated that it is the nicest guitar he ever played with in his career and praised the beauty of this guitar.
Here is what Dave Grohl said:
“He had Slash go pick me a guitar, and he picked me an early-’60s Gibson ES 335 Dot, which to this day is the nicest fucking guitar I have ever played in my life. It was an incredibly kind and classy gesture, and I was very appreciative.”
