Cradle Of Filth frontman Dani Filth shared details about the upcoming collaboration with Ed Sheeran. The two musicians have been working on their song for almost a year, and Filth recently confirmed in an interview that it’s planned to be released this summer. He also confirmed that they won’t have any financial gain from the song and will be shared as a charity single.
During the interview with Louder Sound, the frontman shared an update about the song and explained how it would sound to the audience. He said:
“Ed’s done all his parts. It’s just bass and vocals for me to do. It’s exactly how you can imagine it’ll sound, if you can imagine Ed Sheeran with Cradle Of Filth. He plays acoustic guitar on it, but it’s heavy: it’s got a blastbeat in there. It’s a bit of everything.”
It seems that many people thought that the two were working on the song for the money. Filth cleared the misunderstanding and added:
“The plan is to do it as a charity single, because, first off, everybody jumped to the conclusion that we were doing this for the money and we wanted to knock that on the head. We’re hoping for it to be out this summer.”
The frontman shared that they have bonded and become close friends over the course of two years. The two were connected by the pop singer’s love not only for Cradle Of Filth but Slipknot as well.
Additionally, Sheeran admitted in an earlier interview that he has been a fan of the band for a long time.
The release date of the song hasn’t been announced yet.
Cradle Of Filth’s latest single, ‘She Is A Fire’ is out now, which you can listen to below.
