Damon Albarn On Having Hesitations To Continue With Blur

Following their return from an eight-year hiatus in 2022, Blur is set to take another break, as lead vocalist Damon Albarn revealed in a recent chat with France’s Les Inrockuptibles. Albarn explained the reason behind the decision, saying:

“It is time to wrap up this campaign. It’s too much for me. It was the right thing to do and an immense honor to play these songs again, spend time with these guys, make an album, blah-blah-blah. I’m not saying I won’t do it again; it was a beautiful success, but I’m not dwelling on the past.”

Blur concluded their latest series of shows in South America last month. Earlier this year, they also released a new album, ‘The Ballad Of Darren,’ for their comeback.

Plans For The Future

Next year, Blur’s frontman will be working on an opera that will be shown in Paris. He’s also planning to team up again with Jamie Hewlett in India to create a new album for Gorillaz, following their 2023 album ‘Cracker Island.’

Some of the other band members will also be working on new projects in 2024. Graham Coxon is getting ready for a UK tour with his band, The Waeve, which he formed with Rose Elinor Dougall. They will be the opening act for Elbow on their upcoming tour.
