Creedence Clearwater Revival’s John Fogerty has been known for his clear political stance and opinions, which he expressed without shame. But according to his words in a recent interview with American Songwriter, the musician is not happy with how he conveyed his points in the past.
Fogerty is openly a liberal Democrat who shares his views on social and political matters through various platforms. Although he looks like someone sure of his words and action, the musician believes he couldn’t manage to express himself properly in the old recordings of him.
Former lead vocalist of Creedence Clearwater Revival stated that he found his old attitude embarrassing because of his angry demeanor, which apparently changed over time. On the other hand, he is happy that his views and opinions were recorded.
Fogerty’s words on the matter in the interview were as follows:
“In some ways, it’s embarrassing to me that there are videos of me cranking on about this or that event. In the long distance of it, in some ways I’m ashamed. But in other ways, I’m glad it’s on record.”
John Fogerty has no regrets about his opinions, which he prefers to express freely, but with the effect of time and maturity, he believes that the way he used to convey them was not right. The musician thinks his attitude shouldn’t have been angry and shows that he has changed his behavior recently.
