SeeYouSpaceCowboy singer Connie Sgarbossa has confirmed that she left the band.

A week ago, the singer hinted in now-deleted posts that she might be leaving the band after some controversy. “Probably gonna be leaving SYSC due to a lack of urgency on issues I have been bringing up for a while now. It was fun while it lasted,” she wrote at the time.

Now in a more recent statement on Instagram Stories, Sgarbossa referred to the band in past tense, confirming her exit. “I appreciate everyone reaching out. SYSC meant the world to me too. I haven’t fully processed what’s going on but I am alive as of now,” she wrote.

The drama first started when Dance Gavin Dance’s lead singer Tillian Pearson faced sexual abuse allegations in 2022. Though Pearson temporarily stepped away from the band, Dance Gavin Dance continued without him and later brought him back before parting ways with him in 2023.

At the time, SYSC had dropped Roman Candle from a tour over domestic abuse allegations. However, though Dance Gavin Dance faced similar issues, SYSC decided not to drop them. Since then, the singer has been facing backlash, including from Ronnie Radke.

Radke addressed her message about potentially leaving the band, saying that she wouldn’t be leaving because she ‘needs the money.’ “No you do back it I saw the screenshots of your text to the band. Also, you are making 100k on the [Dance Gavin Dance] tour you f*cking punk ass b*tch. You f*cking poser. Drop off the tour if you don’t back it then, oh wait, you need that 100k.”

While some fans thought Sgarbossa didn’t act fair by not dropping DGD from the tour, some thought she wasn’t serious about leaving the band. It’s now clear that all of this was the final straw for Sgarbossa.
