Coldplay is being sued by their former manager Dave Holmes due to a contractual disagreement. A representative for Coldplay confirmed to Variety that the British rock band parted ways with their manager a year ago after working together for 22 years.
Their current management team consists of Phil Harvey, Mandi Frost and Arlene Moon, who worked with both the band and Holmes for many years.
Further information regarding the lawsuit is not available, for the legal documents have not been made public yet.
Apart from the legal issues, Coldplay extended their contract with Warner Music Group and Atlantic Records in 2021, prior to their album ‘Music of the Spheres’ being released. Now they added more places to their ‘Music of the Spheres World Tour,’ which they embarked on March 2022 and will continue until September 2, 2024. Coldplay aimed to minimise their carbon emission, and encourage sustainability. In their announcement in June, the band wrote:
“Now that we’re into the second year of the tour, we’ve started to run the entire show (audio, lights, lasers etc) from an electric battery system that allows us to use 100 per cent renewable energy as efficiently as possible. We have been using electric vehicles and alternative fuels wherever we can, as well as reducing waste and plastic usage to a minimum.”
