Christian metalcore singer Magdalene Rose recently addressed the challenges she’s facing with church venues. She shared her experiences in a detailed post on Instagram.
The singer revealed that several churches have either removed her from shows or canceled events entirely due to her appearance and musical style.
“Several churches have called and either asked for me not to be on their shows, or they’ve completely canceled the show strictly based on the way I look and the music I play,” Rose said.
She expressed frustration with what she sees as a recurring pattern in the Christian music community.
“I thought we were passed this guys but recently it feels like there’s been more calls coming in from promoters because their churches want me off the shows, or they just completely cancel the shows because of the way I dress or the way my music sounds,” she continued.
Rose also noted the lack of dialogue from the venues making these decisions.
“Not one has offered to speak with me or tried to understand why I create music the way I do,” she said.
