The statement focused on what it means for the band to close out festivals and how they intend to approach the opportunity.

The question touched on Bloodstock naming Motionless in White as one of its 2027 headliners. Asked what it means to reach the point where a band closes out festivals, Motionless responded:

“Yeah, that’s been something that it’s always the case when you’re a younger band. You’re like, ‘Man, if we were ever given that chance, we would put on the craziest show we possibly can’ and now we get to do that.”

He continued by explaining the mindset the band brings to such opportunities.

“We’re in the belief that when you’re given this opportunity, you better spend every penny you can on putting the craziest production together and making sure that your band is as tight as possible and you are playing the right songs. So to have that now equate to we’re about to go headline our first European festival, we’re gonna go so hard and do everything that we can to bring what we can typically only do in America over to the U.K.”

Motionless also addressed why the band chose this particular show and the motivation behind it.

“The reason why we chose to do that show instead of Download, which is earlier in the summer, is because we wanted to give back to the people that were believing in us. They thought that we were a headliner. We wanted to go do that and prove them right. To be honest, [we want to] prove a lot of other people wrong and that’s a cool motivating factor and we’re gonna go super hard.”

His comments come at a pivotal moment for the band. The details of the booking show how significant it is.

Bloodstock Open Air returns to Catton Park in Derbyshire from August 5 to 8, 2027. Motionless in White were revealed as one of the festival’s Ronnie James Dio stage headliners in the lineup announcement on September 11, 2026. They share the top of the bill with Mercyful Fate and Electric Callboy.

The band will close the main stage on the Sunday. The slot is their first headline performance at a European festival. It is also their only UK show of 2027. That explains why Motionless framed it as a chance to bring a full-scale American-style production to British fans.

Bloodstock is not the only major date on the schedule. Motionless in White have also announced a run of European headlining shows for June and July 2027. The dates cover Switzerland, Hungary, Slovenia, Italy, France, Greece and Portugal. Each show will feature its own curated lineup.

The festival bookings follow the release of the band’s seventh studio album, Decades. The record has put Motionless in White at the center of a busy touring cycle. The band’s biggest-ever UK tour is already under way, and the Bloodstock headline slot is the next major step in that run.
