Son of Chester Bennington, Jaime, said on his Instagram stories that Chester’s widow, Talinda, filed for a restraining order.
“On 11.23.23, I was served with a Domestic Violence Restraining order request by my father’s widow,” Jaime revealed. “Someone I had called a mother since 2004. The order was entirely rooted in falsehoods, and served only to prevent me from telling my truth.”
He continued in a follow-up story, “Talinda’s restraining order request asked that: 1). Jaime be banned from the state of California. 2). That the DV order include 4 additional protected people: my siblings Tyler, Lilly, Lila, and her roommate’s (Amanda Van Roberts) daughter Aiyanna. 3). That the DV order be made permanent for 3-5 years.”
“The court hearing which would determine the legitimacy of Talinda Bennington’s claims against me was scheduled for 12.12.23 (a New Moon). After careful deliberation, I decided that I would be representing myself in the case against Talinda Bennington,” Jaime stated.
The musician added in a separate story, “When it was time, I represented myself. The court did not allow me to submit ANY EVIDENCE in support of my position. And by the end of the hearing, despite the fact that I wasn’t permitted to share my evidence, the court somehow determined that by technicality MY TESTIMONY FULFILLED Talinda’s own BURDEN OF PROOF.”
“The Domestic Violence Restraining Order was granted, albeit with modifications. The court decided: 1). To impose a stay-away order of 100 yards, 2). To remove my siblings and Amanda’s daughter from the protected peoples category. 3). To impose the order for 1-year only. Talinda Bennington had gotten away with lying under oath,” Jaime explained.
After Linkin Park’s new singer, Emily Armstrong, faced criticism for supporting Danny Masterson, Talinda Bennington supported her by commenting on Armstrong’s Instagram post.
“I’m so beyond excited for this next chapter!! The love and support does not go unnoticed. See you all soon,” Armstrong wrote in the caption. Talinda responded with fire emojis.
Jaime criticized Linkin Park for choosing Emily as their new singer, accusing the band of erasing his father’s legacy. He also raised concerns about Armstrong’s ties to Scientology and Danny Masterson. Jaime received death threats from fans in response. Linkin Park defended their choice, with Mike Shinoda saying the new lineup is about moving forward, not erasing the past.
