Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante shared an update about the band’s upcoming album on Instagram.

“I’ve been getting a lot of ‘when the new album?’. We won’t release a new album until Tower Records is back in business, f*ck this streaming sh*t!” he said.

“I know it’s been a while and you’ve been very patient… it’s in the oven and cooking,” he continued.

Fans have eagerly awaited new material from the thrash metal band since their last studio album in 2016. This latest update offers concrete details about the highly anticipated follow-up to ‘For All Kings.’

Planet Rock revealed bassist Frank Bello’s confirmation of the new album’s release timeline. The record will arrive in September or October 2025, marking the band’s longest gap between studio albums.

The band maintained their active presence despite the recording hiatus. Blabbermouth reported their recent successful co-headlining tour with Kreator and Testament. The performances demonstrated their continued stage prowess.

MetalSucks noted that their 2016 album ‘For All Kings’ reached No. 9 on the Billboard 200 chart. The release earned widespread critical acclaim.

The band has worked methodically on the new material between touring commitments. This approach enabled them to refine their sound while maintaining their live music presence.
