Chad Smith Confirms That Red Hot Chili Peppers Are Working On A New Album

Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith opened up about the band’s future projects during an interview with New York’s Q104.3 radio station, and apparently, the band is working on a brand new album and despite the release date isn’t revealed, Smith stated that the new record is going to be exciting.

As many of you might recall, Red Hot Chili Pepper’s last album was ‘The Getaway’ which is the eleventh studio album of the band, released on June 17, 2016. The album debuted at number one in ten different countries such as Australia, Austria, Belgium, Netherlands, New Zealand, and more.

While reaching the top in numerous countries, ‘The Getaway’ reached number two in the band’s home country of the United States on the Billboard 200, along with the United Kingdom and Canada, as well as receiving generally favorable reviews both from the music critics and fans.

Due to the fact that it’s been five years since Red Hot Chili Peppers put out a recording, the fans have been waiting for an announcement from the band and the thrilling news just arrived by drummer Chad Smith during a recent interview.

Apparently, the band is working on an upcoming album and despite the release date isn’t determined yet, all the band members are just as excited as their fans since they cannot wait to release their album, perform the new tracks, and their fans to hear the recording.

“There’s a gag order on me. I do so many Zooms, and they’re, like, ‘Why’d you say that?’ There’s something coming. I can say this: we’re making a record, we’re making new music, and it’s very exciting. I don’t know when it’s coming out, but we can’t wait for people to hear it, and we can’t wait to perform for people. Just like everybody else that really misses that experience.”
