In a recent interview with Classic Rock, Bullet For My Valentine guitarist Michael ‘Padge’ Paget discussed touring with Trivium and revealed whether or not there is competition between both bands.

When asked how well BFMV knows Trivium, the guitarist replied, “A few years back we toured with them in America. They’re really nice guys, we get on with them really well. What a great album ‘Ascendancy’ is. It’ll be great to hear that every night.”

He also made it clear that there is no competition. “Not at all. We are flip-flopping [as headliners]. Some bands have inflated egos and whatnot, but this is going to be a walk in the park.”

Trivium and Bullet For My Valentine announced the co-headlining 2025 tour in February last year. Both bands will celebrate 20 years since the release of their classic albums, ‘The Poison’ and ‘Ascendancy.’ August Burns Red, Sylosis, and Bleed From Within will join them on select dates.

In another interview, the two frontmen discussed what they love the most about each other’s bands. While discussing how many minutes each band would stay on stage to perform, Matt Tuck explained: “We still have to work out the realities of what the set’s going to entail length-wise, because we don’t want to be on that stage so long it affects changeovers and travel times for crowds. I think 75 minutes seems like the right amount of time, both albums come in around 55 minutes, then you get to have 20 minutes of whatever you want. From a crowd perspective, that’s probably enough as well. You’re just getting your ears and head assaulted by heavy metal for three f*cking hours!”

In the same interview, the Trivium frontman Matt Heafy added: “In my heart, I believe this is going to be the metal tour of 2025.”

‘The Poisoned Ascendancy’ 2025 UK arena tour will begin at the Utilita Arena in Cardiff on January 26, 2025. The tour will stop in cities like Glasgow, Manchester, and Birmingham before wrapping up at The O2 in London on February 1, 2025.
