Amid escalating global tensions, Canadian singer Bryan Adams recently released an anti-war song titled ‘What if There Were No Sides at All.’ The track, characterized by its slow tempo and acoustic nature, features a noticeable slide guitar and Adams’ appeal for peace.

The lyrics, which center around a plea against forced choices and conflicts, question the rationality of one party emerging victorious while the other succumbs. The song was introduced with a description on YouTube, where Adams clarified that its anti-war message aims to inspire a reconsideration of the prevailing state of global conflicts. The singer further expressed his hope that the song would motivate governments to negotiate for peace.

Here is what Adams said in the song’s YouTube video description:

“This is an anti-war peace song. The locations are generic but are meant to represent conflicts in the world. The aim of this song is to provoke thought and perhaps even encourage governments to sit down and talk about peace. At the moment, there is only escalating division and death — a result of the billions of dollars spent by governments to fund these endless wars.”

‘What if There Were No Sides at All’ is the latest release since the rocker’s album ‘So Happy It Hurts,’ which launched in March 2022. Fans of Bryan Adams can look forward to his return to live performances as he prepares for the next leg of his ‘So Happy It Hurts’ tour. This joint venture with Joan Jett is set to kick off in Baltimore on June 6, concluding in Seattle on August 3.
