The split of ways of Jay Weinberg and Slipknot did not seem to affect only the drummer himself but his father, Max Weinberg too, who is also a drummer best known for his contributions to Bruce Springsteen.
After Jay was fired from Slipknot, he received many heartfelt comments from many drummers, including his father. The Bruce Springsteen drummer praised his son for his hard work and clarified how proud he made him with the following words:
“For 33 years you’ve made your mom and I 100% proud. This moment is no exception. You’re a class act! Love Dad.”
Why Was Jay Weinberg Fired from Slipknot?

Despite his ten-year contribution to the band, the rocker was fired from the band last month. According to the band’s explanation, the two parties were separated due to creative differences, claiming that Slipknot is intent on evolving, and no one could ever replace their former drummer, the late Joey Jordison.
Though the band said they parted ways due to differences, Jay’s statement says otherwise. According to his statement, he was called in the morning to be told that he was no longer in the band. Despite his ‘confusion and sadness,’ the rocker made it clear that he would keep working on music and making new art.
Fellow Drummers Reacted to Jay’s Split

Well, by fellow drummers, we don’t only mean Max Weinberg. Although Slipknot received many comments filled with hatred, Jay’s comment section was filled with heartfelt words coming from other musicians, especially drummers.
Green Day drummer Tre Cool left some heartwarming words under Jay’s post. Sharing his admiration for the drummer, he wrote:
“I have so much admiration and respect for you, Jay. You are still yet to make the best music of your life. You are young. The future is yours for the taking and I’m excited to see what you bring into to the world next! You’re truly a special drummer.”
While the Gojira drummer Mario Duplantier left a red heart, the Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy wrote:
“This is only the end of one chapter… You have many more to write bro! Always have your back.”
Eloy Casagrande from Sepultura added:
“You’re one of the greatest, Jay. It’ll be a pleasure watching your next steps. Much love.”
