Beware the scammers on the internet. This isn’t the first time, nor will it be the last of dishonest people trying to portray themselves as someone they are not. To minimize the possibility of his fans getting scammed, Brian May took to his official Instagram account to warn and apologize to everyone that might have gotten contacted by scammers claiming they are his manager.

The guitarist wrote, “Please block, report, and textually chastise any of these time-wasting idiots who have nothing better to do than scam kids. Despicable. And I’m sorry that any of you should be victims of this nonsense.”

Unfortunately, May’s latest warning against scammers is not the only time the guitarist had to publicly protect his fans from people trying to pretend like him or someone he knows. He previously alerted his fans various times, including when he asked everyone on the internet to be vigilant against fraudsters and fake accounts on social media. The guitarist even advised his fans to look out for the blue tick for verified musician accounts to avoid getting involved with these types of situations.

For everyone at home, try to be more careful when receiving any text or message and be on high alert to ensure you won’t be some scammers’ next victim. It won’t hurt to be more cautious on the internet, especially in the times we’re living in now, where people have mastered loopholes to scam anyone ready to take the bait. Be aware!
