Poison’s Bret Michaels recently addressed the possibility of a band reunion tour and responded to drummer Rikki Rockett’s public claims about their cancelled 2026 tour. He made the statement on Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk.
Michaels discussed the band’s potential return in 2027 to commemorate the 41st anniversary of their debut album ‘Look What the Cat Dragged In’. He also addressed recent tensions within the group.
“We’re hoping for ’27, ’cause I know it’s a big question. I think — I really strongly think ’27, without going into details yet, is going to be a good reunion year for Poison. I think it’s gonna be awesome,” Michaels said.
The frontman emphasized his commitment to maintaining unity within the band despite recent disagreements.
“Most people like the drama. I’m an anti-drama guy. I love the guys. I think ’27 is gonna be great. Rikki is my brother. And you’re allowed to agree and you’re allowed to disagree, but we’re gonna go out there and make it an incredible [tour], honestly,” he continued.
Michaels concluded by expressing optimism about coordinating future plans with his bandmates.
“If ’27 all works out here … we’ll jump on the phone, get the whole band on there, or at least me and Rikki just talking it up and be able to lay out some dates and bring a great reunion tour. But I’m grateful for Poison and I love my brothers and and sisters in the BMB [Bret Michaels Band, Bret’s solo group], and I don’t see any reason we can’t do both and make it great.”
This statement comes after Rockett’s recent claims that the band’s 2026 tour didn’t materialize due to Michaels allegedly demanding excessive compensation.
The tension between the band members has become more apparent as both musicians pursue separate projects while the reunion remains uncertain. Metal Anarchy reported that Rockett is currently touring the U.S. with his Rockett Mafia project. He is performing the full ‘Look What the Cat Dragged In’ album to mark its 40th anniversary in a tour dubbed “Look What The Mob Dragged In.”
Meanwhile, Michaels has been maintaining his own busy performance schedule. Big Hits 98.1 noted that Michaels recently performed at the 2026 Extra Innings Festival and is scheduled to perform at the 2026 NFL Draft in Pittsburgh.
The separate touring activities highlight the current divide within the band. Each member is focusing on individual projects while the future of Poison remains in question. Rockett’s decision to perform the anniversary album with his own group rather than with Poison underscores the ongoing disagreements that led to the cancelled 2026 reunion tour.
The band’s internal conflicts have created uncertainty about whether the proposed 2027 reunion will actually materialize, despite Michaels’ optimistic statements. The public nature of the dispute, particularly Rockett’s claims about financial demands, has added another layer of complexity to any potential reconciliation between the longtime bandmates.
