Bret Michaels discussed the relationship between his solo career and Poison in a recent interview with Pawn After Dark.
“Here’s the real scoop. So I am beyond grateful for Poison. We started out together. It’s been amazing. I wouldn’t be here without Rikki [Rockett], Bobby [Dall], and C.C. [DeVille],” Michaels said.
“The truth of the matter is being out on the road probably since about 2010 has mostly for me been the solo band,” he continued. “We go out there, and all of us are great friends. We grew up together, and they’re fans of Poison.”
“What I mean, there’s no funk and no animosity,” Michaels emphasized. “I go out there and get to do what I love, which is play music and rip it up and enjoy every second of it. We play a lot of the Poison songs in our set, and we make it amazing.”
Michaels has successfully maintained both his solo career and his role with Poison. His clarification demonstrates his ability to balance both musical ventures.
Research from Wikipedia revealed a major milestone in Michaels’ career. His 2010 album ‘Custom Built’ reached the top spot on Billboard’s Hard Rock list, becoming his highest-charting solo release.
His entertainment career expanded beyond music, as noted by The Hollywood Christmas Parade. He collaborated with Rock of Love cast members and made numerous television appearances.
Shot of Poison documented Michaels’ solo tours since 2010. These performances feature a blend of Poison classics and his own material. This approach helps him maintain his connection with the band while developing his independent artistic identity.
Michaels continues to attract audiences in both roles. His success as Poison’s frontman and solo performer proves that separate musical projects can thrive simultaneously.
