Evan Seinfeld, the frontman of metal band Biohazard, recently addressed criticism surrounding his adult film career in an interview with Louder Sound.

Seinfeld explained the financial motivations behind his decision to pursue work in the adult entertainment industry. He noted the significant income disparity between the two careers.

“I made more money in the first three years of the porn business than I made in 20 years of playing in Biohazard,” Seinfeld said. “At the time, there was no Pornhub. People were paying for it, and sex is the most primal instinct we have.”

He acknowledged that some Biohazard fans were uncomfortable with his career choice. He emphasized that the decision was personal.

“Some Biohazard fans were confused, saying: ‘Man, I don’t want to see your d*ck! I just want to hear you sing.’ But I needed to do this for myself. They don’t have to look at it – it’s not like someone’s holding your eyes open like in ‘A Clockwork Orange,'” he continued.

To understand the context of Seinfeld’s career shift, it’s important to examine both his musical achievements and the circumstances that led him into the adult entertainment industry. Individual band members’ earnings often differ substantially from overall band revenue, despite the significant financial success of Biohazard as a band.

Simply Stick reports that Biohazard has sold more than five million records worldwide. The band established themselves as influential figures in the metal and hip-hop fusion genre. However, Seinfeld’s personal earnings from his two decades with the band paled in comparison to what he made in just three years in adult films. This highlights the stark financial disparity between mainstream music and the adult entertainment industry during that era.

Seinfeld’s entry into adult films began after he met his ex-wife and adult star Tera Patrick in 2001, as noted by Louder Sound. The pair appeared in several films together before their divorce in 2009. This marked a significant chapter in Seinfeld’s life that coincided with his continued involvement in Biohazard. He balanced both careers simultaneously during this period, a decision that generated considerable debate within the metal community.
