Saxon vocalist Biff Byford has revealed the official release date for the band’s upcoming 25th studio album during an appearance on the Last Ride podcast.

Byford discussed the status of the band’s recently completed studio album and shared exclusive details about its release timeline.

“I can’t tell you anything about that. What we can tell you, though, is — [and this is an] exclusive — we can tell you that the album is coming out on [Friday] the 22 of January [of 2027]. Nobody knows that. You’re the first person [we’ve told],” Byford said.

The vocalist also provided details about pre-orders and the first single from the upcoming release.

“And you’re gonna be able to order the album early September. And the first single — video and single — I think it’s gonna be a seven-inch vinyl as well of the single, in September,” he continued.

This announcement comes as Saxon continues to promote their current material and maintain their active touring schedule.

The upcoming album will serve as the follow-up to Hell, Fire And Damnation, which was released in January 2024 via Silver Lining Music. Blabbermouth reported that this marks the band’s 25th studio album in their extensive discography spanning over four decades.

Saxon is currently supporting their recent material with the Hell, Fire And Steel UK & Ireland Tour. XS Noize noted that the tour includes performances at venues like Ulster Hall in Belfast, where the band performs songs from their new album alongside classic material.

The band’s continued activity demonstrates their enduring presence in the heavy metal scene. Rough Trade highlighted that Saxon remains an iconic heavy metal band with exclusive releases and essential picks available for collectors and fans.

Pre-orders will begin in early September 2026 with the first single expected the same month. Fans can anticipate a comprehensive rollout leading up to the January 2027 release date. The inclusion of a seven-inch vinyl single reflects the band’s commitment to physical media formats that appeal to their dedicated fanbase.
