“If I had it, I would give it to you because we are long friends but I truly don’t have either of those answers,” the drummer said with a laugh when asked to give ‘highly classified information’ about the record.
When the host further pressed Kerch about the answer, he replied, “Well, we haven’t come up with the name yet because it hasn’t really raised its hand yet and as far as the release, we’re waiting to get everything finalized, mixed, mastered and all the artwork and stuff. So we haven’t put a date on yet.”
“The vast majority I think maybe. Maybe one more, maybe I don’t know,” the musician revealed when Carrie wanted to learn whether the songs were done.
“I think so and there has been talks of that kind of thing,” Kerch responded when asked if the new Shinedown album would have a color theme like the others. “It won’t be a concept record this time I can tell you that.”
He added, “I think we will do a co-scheme because that leads into merch items and just cool things and the way we can design the lighting on stage and all of that. So I think there will be some sort of concept and there’s been a few things floating around but I don’t really have anything to say.”
Shinedown gave a funny Instagram reply to fans asking about their new album last year in November. “The question what will the new Shinedown album sound like?” the group said in their post. “Well, it will sound like Shinedown,” they also shared.
“On a serious note, it’s going to sound like everything… Everything that we have been through personally. Everything that we are excited about. Everything that we are ready to express to the world,” Shinedown then explained.
The band went on to say, “We have said this many times because it is the absolute truth in this band. We only have one boss. It just happens to be everyone in the audience… We have never walked into a studio to write songs for trophies…”
On January 24, 2025, Shinedown released two singles, ‘Three Six Five’ and ‘Dance, Kid, Dance,’ from their upcoming eighth album.
