Avril Lavigne Addresses The ‘Let Go’ Album’s Monumental Impact On Her Life

Avril Lavigne recently took her Instagram account to celebrate the 20th anniversary of her album ‘Let Go.’ She also revealed how this album impacted her life monumentally in her post.
When she was only 16 years old, Avril Lavigne signed a two-album recording contract with Arista Records. She then went to Los Angeles in May 2001 and created two songs with the production team, The Matrix, including her worldwide hit ‘Complicated.’ They then continued working together and finished recording ‘Let Go’ in January 2002.
Lavigne released her debut album ‘Let Go’ on June 4, 2002, in the US. Following the release, the album reached number two on the Billboard 200 chart and peaked at number one in Australia, Canada, and the UK. After these achievements, Lavigne became the youngest female solo artist to have a number-one album on the UK Albums Chart.
‘Let Go’ featured Lavigne’s global hits’ Complicated’ and ‘Sk8er Boi.’ These singles emphasized a skate punk persona and made Lavigne earn the title ‘Pop Punk Queen.’ With this album, the singer also became a crucial musician in developing pop-punk as she became a leading figure for female-driven and punk-influenced pop music in the 2000s.
In her recent Instagram post, Avril Lavigne celebrated the 20th anniversary of ‘Let Go’ and announced the 20th-anniversary edition of the record. She stated that she could not explain what this album meant to her and the monumental impact it had on her life. Lavigne then said ‘Let Go’ took her to places she couldn’t imagine and thanked her team and fans for helping her be herself and making this record a success.
Avril Lavigne’s Instagram post read:
“Today marks 20 years since I released my album ‘Let Go.’ I will never be able to fully explain how much this album meant to me and the monumental impact it has had on my life. It’s hard to try and comprehend how, 20 years later, the songs I wrote as a 17-year-old would still resonate with people today. It’s pretty crazy.
It put me on a path and took me places I never in my wildest dreams could have ever expected, and I am thankful for it every day. None of this would have been possible without the help and guidance of LA Reid, Lauren Christy, The Matrix, Cliff Magness, Curt Frasca, and Sabelle Beer. I will always be grateful to you guys for letting me be myself.
Also, a massive thank you to everyone who played a role, big or small, in helping make this record the success that it was. Last but certainly not least, thank you to every single one of you who made a connection with this album and stayed with me since.”
She then continued:
“I say every night on stage how lucky I feel to be making music, touring, and having as much fun as I do. I share this moment with all of you because, without you guys, these songs wouldn’t have reached the heights that they did. A genuine, heartfelt thank you to anyone that ever listened to my music and stuck around.
Happy 20th Anniversary ‘Let Go,’ and here’s to another 20 years. The 20th Anniversary edition is available now wherever you buy or stream music.”
