Avenged Sevenfold‘s M. Shadows recently tweeted to give fans a heads-up about their upcoming two festival appearances, which are most definitely not canceled, and that they are working on getting to the bottom of the recent hacking of their podcast platform.

In a recent episode of Avenged Sevenfold’s podcast ‘Trax’ titled ‘Important Announcement’ was a one-minute clip with vocalist Matt explaining that the band would be canceling their appearances at Welcome To Rockville and Sonic Temple festivals later this year. The voice clip also made a point to explain their reasoning behind the cancellations, as them still needing to wrap up their new album.

However, it turns out that an AI voice changer hacked the band to led fans to believe that they won’t be performing at two separate festivals as the real M. Shadows tweeted that they were still playing and the clip was not him.

M. Shadows’ tweet to ensure fans that their festival appearances are not canceled read:

“Yikes! This is NOT TRUE. We are still playing. Getting to the bottom of this.”

The one-minute clip that appeared on their podcast ‘Trax’ read:

“Hey, Trax listeners, we’re so sorry to bring bad news to you all, but I wanted you to hear it straight from the horse’s mouth. We’ve had some unexpected delays on the new album and have decided to cancel our appearances at Welcome to Rockville and Sonic Temple to focus on finishing it up. It breaks our hearts to do this, but some things must be done.

I understand this is disappointing news for everyone, and I want to let you know that we are truly sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. Creating new music is a passion we have dedicated our lives, and we believe our fans deserve nothing but the best from us. We put our hearts and souls into this new project to make it the best it can be.

We’ve been working tirelessly on this new music and are committed to bringing it to you as soon as possible. We know canceling more shows is a major disappointment, and I want to assure you that this is a decision we did not make lightly. Many of you will be let down and frustrated. And for that, we are deeply sorry.”

The clip in question has now been removed, but it confused fans quite a bit. M. Shadows’ tweet put everyone’s mind at ease by stating that the announcement was all fake. To anyone concerned, you can rest assured that Avenged Sevenfold will be at the Welcome To Rockville and Sonic Temple festivals later this year.
