After Red Hot Chili Peppers canceled their gig at KROQ’s Almost Acoustic Christmas due to an injury within the band earlier this month, Anthony Kiedis confirmed which member was hurt. Singing an apology through a video on Instagram, Kiedis revealed John Frusciante broke his finger:

“My apologies to you. To K Rock, spelled with the Q. My apologies to you. Our guitarist, John Frusciante, broke a finger. Yes, it’s true. My apologies to you and you and you.”

The Band Has Rescheduled

As the caption of the video shared by KROQ’s official page stated that the band would be back on the Kia Forum stage on March 2, the vocalist went on singing:

“We hope to see you soon, not in April, May or June. My apologies to you. I believe it is March 2. Yes, I think it’s, too. My apologies to you.”

Ending his apology song without further details, he finished the video by saying:

“KROQ’s been rocking my whole life. Thank you very much for showing up. We’ll see you soon.”

RHCP was initially set to perform at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, on December 9, sharing the stage with bands like The Offspring, Garbage, Cannons, Portugal. The Man, and Bleachers.

There Will Be New Shows

Following the injury, the band announced a rescheduled performance for KROQ, now planned for March 2024. Their official statement on Instagram read:

“It is with deep regret that we will not be able to perform this weekend at KROQ’s Almost Acoustic Christmas. A band member was injured, preventing us from being able to perform for at least 6 weeks. However, RHCP and KROQ are excited to make it up to you on March 2nd, 2024, at The Forum. So, have a great time this weekend, and hang on to your ticket.”

RHCP will get back on the road to promote their latest album, ‘Return Of The Dream Canteen,’ on February 17 at The Venue, Lincoln, California, with dates following across North America.
