Angela Gossow recently addressed speculation about her potential return to Arch Enemy. She clarified her role in the band’s upcoming developments in a statement shared on Instagram.

The former Arch Enemy vocalist responded to fan speculation after the band posted teaser videos hinting at a new chapter. Many believed she might be rejoining as the lead singer. Speculation intensified when the band and Gossow wiped their social media accounts clean. They posted a cryptic first teaser of a hooded figure holding a burning torch captioned “2026.” This was followed by a second video showing band members tagging Gossow alongside Michael Amott, Joey Concepcion, Sharlee D’Angelo, and Daniel Erlandsson, with a new figure picking up a mic.

“It’s not ME! But thank you for all the love!” Gossow said. “I am really excited to be involved in this new chapter as the manager. This is gonna CRUSH!”

Her comment came after Arch Enemy posted teaser content with the caption “2026.” This followed their parting of ways with singer Alissa White-Gluz. The first teaser video led fans to speculate about Gossow’s return as vocalist. She has now confirmed her involvement will be in a managerial capacity rather than as the band’s singer.

The speculation surrounding Gossow’s potential return highlights her significant history with the Swedish melodic death metal band. It also shows her continued involvement behind the scenes.

Blabbermouth reported that Gossow has managed Arch Enemy since 2008. This was over a decade before her 2014 retirement from vocals after 13 years fronting the band. Her transition from vocalist to manager demonstrates her ongoing commitment to the band’s success. This continued even after stepping away from performing duties.

The departure of Alissa White-Gluz marks the end of a highly successful era for Arch Enemy. Loudwire noted that White-Gluz led the band through its most successful period. Both 2022’s Deceivers and 2025’s Blood Dynasty hit Sweden’s Top 10 charts. White-Gluz herself addressed the split, stating: “After 12 years in Arch Enemy, we have parted ways… Stay tuned for big news in 2026.”

Louder Sound confirmed that Gossow is no longer performing with the band. However, she has remained closely involved with Arch Enemy as their business manager throughout the years. This dual role as former frontwoman and current manager puts her in a unique position to guide the band’s next chapter.

The cryptic nature of Arch Enemy’s recent social media activity and the “2026” teaser suggests significant developments are planned for the band’s future. Gossow’s managerial expertise will likely play a crucial role in whatever announcement is forthcoming.
