Evanescence’s Amy Lee recently shared her sentiments about the band’s live performances in an interview with Revolver. The singer unveiled her personal favorite songs to play during Evanescence shows. In a candid reflection, Lee stated:
“I love ‘Broken Pieces Shine.’ That’s what we opened the set with, kind of for a reason. I envisioned it as being the show opener when we wrote it. Like, this is how it begins.”
In addition to ‘Broken Pieces Shine,’ Lee mentioned another song in their repertoire. This particular track holds a special significance for her, contributing an evocative atmosphere to Evanescence’s concerts. She added:
“What else do I look forward to? ‘The End Of The Dream.’ The way that we’ve turned that into this hybrid version between the Synthesis beginning and the self-titled rest of it is really beautiful and lets me go in free time. It’s just a really strange, beautiful moment in the middle of the show to break it down like that.”
Lee Was Unhappy With Evanescence’s Biggest Hit

Some fans might find it interesting that Lee left Evanescence’s most popular song out of the list of her favorite songs. However, Amy previously explained that she actually had an issue with ‘Bring Me To Life.’ The Evanescence singer explained that her biggest problem with it was the famous rap parts. Apparently, Lee doesn’t perform the ‘Bring Me To Life’ rap anymore due to her personal dislike. Earlier this year, she joined an interview with Metal Hammer and explained:
“I stopped performing it a long time ago. We never really did perform it. When we’re on tour and we have somebody that fits into that spot, they jump up on the song. We were on tour with P.O.D. and we had Sonny get up a few times. And obviously, if we’re ever in the same town as Paul, who originally did the part, we will have him come up, because it’s fun and it’s cool and nostalgic. But that part, that sound, that’s not my style. That’s why it was such a difficult pill to swallow, even on one song. But we won because we didn’t have to change our whole sound.”
Evanescence wrapped up their tour in 2023, and they are getting ready for the upcoming summer tour in 2024. According to the band’s official website, the 2024 tour will include shows in both U.S. and Europe.
