Evanescence singer Amy Lee is a huge fan of Sleep Token.
Sleep Token started their career in 2016 but gained more recognition in the last two years with songs like ‘Chokehold,’ and ‘The Summoning.’ The worldwide recognition affected Lee as well. In a new interview with Revolver, the rocker explained what she loves so much about the band:
“I love Sleep Token. I’m blown away. How do they do it? How do they go so many different directions and call it one song?”
What Song Affected Lee The Most

Though Sleep Token released a new album this year, Lee’s favorite was no other than ‘The Summoning.’ The band’s progressive sound and the track’s uniqueness seem to have shocked her. She explained:
“It took me three listens of [The Summoning] to realize that when they do that whole psychedelic section at the end, that it’s actually the same chorus as it was before, only in a completely different way. And I love it even more for that. I thought they just went a whole new direction and wrote a new part, and then I was like, ‘Wait that’s the same… but not at all.'”
Lee’s Thoughts on Sleep Token Staying Anonymous

Since the start of their career, Sleep Token has been appearing on stage with masks on, keeping their identities unknown. While some listeners wonder who they are and even try to unveil their identities, others are okay with the band staying anonymous. The Evanescence singer is also among those who are okay with the band staying anonymous, and even thinks it’s creative:
“I think it’s amazing. I think too much these days the focus is on everything but the music with a lot of the mainstream. And for me, if there’s not the music then what are we doing? That’s what this is supposed to be about. I love it. I think it’s awesome. It’s creative. It’s really cool.”
We might get a collaboration someday, who knows?
